FRMG organizes the 1st Annual Seminar of its Medical Commission dedicated to optimizing golfer performance

Under the effective presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG), through its Medical Commission, organized on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at the National Horse Institute in Rabat, the first Annual Seminar of its Medical Commission.

Held under the theme “Optimizing golfer performance: the contribution of sports medicine,” this day, intended for golf instructors, coaches and golf fitness trainers, aimed to advance coaching practices in a concrete and directly applicable way, in the service of player performance and health.

At the heart of this initiative lies a simple conviction: sustainable performance is built through structured medical and sports support, grounded in prevention, training, and awareness of health and safety.

Through this first annual gathering, the FRMG Medical Commission is strengthening a momentum already underway in the field by reinforcing the link between scientific expertise, sports supervision, and the real needs of practitioners.

Mr. Adil Ababou, President of the FRMG Sports Medicine Commission, stated: “Driven by the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, FRMG places its action within an ethical and responsible approach. As an organizer of events of national and international scope, it also has a responsibility to raise awareness of health-related issues. This first annual gathering responds to a clear federal priority: strengthening training and sharing practical reference points in the service of player performance and health, for those who support them on a daily basis.”

In this spirit, and in line with the vision carried by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, who emphasized the importance of training sports executives, FRMG places this initiative within a broader ambition for the golf ecosystem, described as a “catalyst for the tourism development of our country.”

Designed as a day of training and experience sharing, the program was structured around five thematic sessions, followed by a closing roundtable discussion, addressing in particular:

  • exercise physiology and biomechanics applied to golf,
  • physical preparation and injury prevention,
  • nutrition and hydration,
  • anti-doping and the role of the federal doctor, mental preparation, as well as cardiovascular health in the service of performance.

The roundtable opened discussion on “Towards an integrated medical performance model for the Moroccan golfer,” placing into perspective player supervision, collaboration between technical and medical staff, and the outlook promoted by FRMG.

This seminar is part of the continuity of actions carried out by the Medical Commission during 2024 and 2025, years marked by the structuring and gradual expansion of medical supervision systems within the Federation.

In 2024, a certified first-aid training course was notably organized for clubs and brought together 23 golf clubs in Morocco, with the aim of strengthening safety on courses and the ability to respond to medical emergencies.

That same year, an anti-doping awareness seminar was co-organized with the Moroccan Anti-Doping Agency, bringing together 25 participants and aiming to clarify regulatory obligations and raise awareness of anti-doping issues in golf.

In 2025, this momentum continued around several areas, including the monitoring of elite golfers through the launch of a medical database project, the signing of a partnership agreement with the Moroccan Anti-Doping Agency on February 6, 2025, as well as the launch in April 2025 of a medical support plan for young golfers integrating prevention, screening and health education.

All of these measures contribute to promoting healthy, safe practice that complies with international standards.
