Twelve Clubs to Compete for the 21st Throne Cup at Royal Golf Cabo Negro
Held under the effective presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (RMGF) and the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association (ATH) are organizing the 21st edition of the Throne Cup, scheduled to take place from July 6 to 11, 2026, at Royal Golf Cabo Negro.
A flagship event on Morocco’s national golf calendar, the Throne Cup will once again bring together the country’s leading amateur golfers, representing twelve clubs from across the Kingdom. Teams from Royal Golf de Marrakech, Royal Golf Cabo Negro, Casa Green Golf, Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, Royal Country Club de Tanger, Royal Golf de Fès, Golf Saïdia Lacs, Royal Golf d’El Jadida, PalmGolf Casablanca, The Montgomerie Rabat, The Tony Jacklin Casablanca and Royal Golf Anfa Mohammedia will all be competing for the title of Morocco’s best golf club.
Following a 20th edition held in 2025 on the historic fairways of Royal Country Club de Tanger and won by Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, the competition continues its tradition of moving across the Kingdom, with Royal Golf Cabo Negro selected as the host venue for its 21st edition. Set between the sea and the mountains, this emblematic course in northern Morocco will provide an exceptional setting for a competition that has become the benchmark for team golf in the Kingdom.
Since its creation in 2004, the Throne Cup has continued to grow in stature, prestige and sporting intensity. Built around the values of fair play, solidarity, self-improvement and a strong sense of belonging, the competition gives Morocco’s best amateur players the opportunity each year to defend their club’s colors in an event where individual performance is placed at the service of the team.
As a true indicator of the level of Moroccan golf, the Throne Cup also highlights the progress achieved by golf schools and training programs developed within clubs across the country. Several of the players taking part today rank among the leading national and international amateurs, with a number of them also listed in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
For more than twenty years, the success of the Throne Cup has rested above all on the commitment of the clubs, as well as the female and male players who are at the heart of the competition. Their loyalty, dedication and continued engagement have helped make this event an essential fixture in Morocco’s national sporting calendar.
From July 6 to 11, 2026, Royal Golf Cabo Negro will host a new edition of the Throne Cup, celebrating sporting excellence, team spirit and a shared passion for golf.
