Vision of the Federation on Training

Strengthening skills in the golf professions is one of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation's (RMGF) top priorities. It is an essential challenge for the development of the golf sector in Morocco. In this regard, the RMGF has established several partnership agreements to enhance its training efforts, particularly with national institutions such as the Office of Vocational Training and Work Promotion (OFPPT) and international institutions such as the French Golf Federation (FFGOLF) and the PGA of America.

Several training initiatives are being conducted to consolidate skills in this field:

1. Training in refereeing and organization of club events

Training in organizing club events

In its effort to strengthen skills, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation offers training for organizing golf club events.

Training of federal referees

As part of the partnership established between the French Golf Federation (FFGOLF) and the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation, two training sessions are offered:

2. Launch of the PGA of America Associate Program

The launch of the Associate Program training, a partnership between the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and the PGA of America, marks a significant step in the training and development of skills for future professionals in the golf industry. This prestigious training provides an opportunity to gain in-depth expertise in key areas of the sector and leads to the acquisition of the PGA of America Membership.

Under the supervision of a PGA of America trainer, candidates undergo a three-level training:

3. Golf teachers' training

Firmly believing in the role of teachers in developing golf practice and training high-level players, and in alignment with Law 30-09, which stipulates that the practice of sports teaching must be conditioned by obtaining a specialized diploma, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation launched a golf teaching program in 2018 in partnership with PGA France. Several other training sessions have also been provided for all trained teachers, particularly in new technologies.

4. Strengthening skills in golf course rating

Golf course rating consists of evaluating various parameters related to the course (playing length, fairway width, out-of-bounds, rough height and proximity, green surface and slope, etc.). As part of strengthening skills in golf course rating and in partnership with the French Golf Federation (FFGOLF), the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation has implemented actions to form an autonomous team of Moroccan raters capable of conducting all rating tasks at the national level.

5. Strengthening skills in golf course maintenance

Teams responsible for golf course maintenance play an essential role in the development of golf practice. In continuity with its training efforts in this area, the Federation supports candidates in their online greenkeeping training provided by Scotland's Rural College (SRUC) at Elmwood. In return, candidates will train future trainers and also supervise part of the practical courses planned for future students. It is worth noting that this training lasts two years and leads to the Higher National Certificate in Greenkeeping.

6. Integration of students from the Agronomic and Veterinary Institute

Since 2021, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation has ensured the connection between students of the Hassan II Agronomic and Veterinary Institute and golf clubs. Each year, a presentation is made to these students to introduce the greenkeeper profession and the various training opportunities available internationally.

2. Formation au profit des joueurs élites et professionnels
