The Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (RMGF) will host the “World Amateur Team Championships” (WATC) from October 6 to 9, 2027, at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, a course recognized worldwide for hosting major international events.
Morocco will be the first North African nation to host this prestigious competition, which has featured some of the sport’s greatest names.
Organized every two years by the International Golf Federation (IGF), this prestigious event includes two competitions – the Espirito Santo Trophy (women) and the Eisenhower Trophy (men).
First held in 1958, the WATC brings together the world’s top 36 teams in each category.

Morocco welcomes the World Amateur Team Championships 2027

Royal Golf Dar Es Salam
Nestled in a cork oak forest on the outskirts of Rabat, the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam is one of the most renowned golf courses in Africa. The two championships will be played on its Red and Blue courses.
World Amateur Team Championships
The World Amateur Team Championships are a biennial international amateur golf competition conducted by the International Golf Federation.
Women
Espirito Santo Trophy
The women’s championship was first held in France in 1964. The 2027 edition will be the 32nd.
men
Eisenhower Trophy
The men’s championship was first held in 1958 at the Old Course at St Andrews. The 2027 edition will be the 35th.
International Golf Federation
The International Golf Federation (IGF) is recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the international federation for golf.
In addition to the World Amateur Team Championships, the IGF organises the golf competitions at the Olympic Games and Youth Olympic Games. The IGF has recently increased its membership to 156 member federation from 153 countries.
