2024 Throne Cup: An exciting final phase awaits

The 2024 Throne Cup of Golf’s second day brought soaring temperatures, but the heat couldn’t dampen the spirits of the players, who demonstrated remarkable resolve on the greens.

In the Junior category, Royal Golf Dar Es-Salam held firm in the top spot, with Golf De l’Océan and Royal Golf Anfa Mohammedia trailing behind. A standout moment was the impressive under-par performance by young talent Diker Safouane. Clubs like Casa Green Golf, Royal Country Club Tanger, The Tony Jacklin Casablanca, Royal Golf Club D’Agadir, and Royal Golf De Marrakech have all secured their places in the quarter-finals. Unfortunately, Golf Saidia Lacs fell short of qualifying.

The “Classic” division saw intense competition as Royal Golf Anfa Mohammedia surged ahead, overtaking the previous day’s leader, Royal Golf Dar Es-Salam. With nine under-par scores recorded on the Red course, the skill level on display was exceptional. Teams such as Royal Country Club Tanger, Palmeraie Country Club, Oued Fes Golf, and Royal Golf El Jadida put up solid performances, while The Montgomerie Rabat and Royal Golf Marrakech clinched the last two spots in the quarter-finals. The stage is set for thrilling clashes, with the top contenders Royal Golf Dar Es Salam and Royal Golf Anfa Mohammedia gearing up to face the competition. The eight teams that made it through have also earned their tickets to the next edition.

In the Seniors division, Royal Golf Dar Es-Salam remains the frontrunner, closely followed by Royal Golf Anfa Mohammedia and Tazegzout Golf Club. Royal Golf El Jadida, The Tony Jacklin Casablanca, Golf De Cabo Negro, Royal Golf De Fes, and Golf Saidia Lacs all made it through to the quarter-finals. However, teams like Palm Golf Casa and Casa Green Golf Club didn’t make the cut this time.

As the teams ready themselves for the quarter-finals, the atmosphere is charged with anticipation. The upcoming matchups promise to be filled with intense, unforgettable moments. The Throne Cup of Golf continues to enthrall golf enthusiasts, offering top-tier play and celebrating the finest in Moroccan golf.
