Ines Laklalech Qualifies for the Paris Olympic Games​Morocco’s Third Consecutive Participation in the Olympic Golf Tournament

Under the presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (RMGF) announces that Moroccan golfer Ines Laklalech qualified on Monday, June 24th, for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Only 33 nations and 60 of the best female golfers worldwide will compete in the Olympic Golf Tournament in Paris. With Ines Laklalech’s qualification, Morocco will be represented for the third consecutive time in this competition. Ines Laklalech will be the only Arab athlete and one of three players from two African countries, a remarkable achievement highlighting her talent and determination.

At 26 years old, Ines Laklalech made history in Moroccan golf by becoming the first Arab and North African golfer to win a tournament on the Ladies European Tour, the Lacoste Ladies Open De France, in September 2022. This triumph was followed by her entry into the prestigious Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour (LPGA Tour), marking a significant milestone in her career. Morocco player of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation follows in the footsteps of Maha Haddioui, who participated in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2021, ensuring Morocco’s presence in the Olympic tournament, which will take place at the prestigious “Golf National” from August 7 to 10.

Ines Laklalech’s career has been marked by exceptional performances: participation in the World Amateur Team Championships (WATC) in 2016 and 2018, Arab Champion in 2018, and Moroccan Champion in 2019. Her promotion to the LPGA in 2023, where she made five cuts in her first season, demonstrates her talent and perseverance.
