Under the effective presidency of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation celebrates an extraordinary breakthrough in the history of Moroccan and Arab golf. At the prestigious “PIF Saudi International Powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers,” 20-year-old Adam Bresnu showcased a remarkable performance, claiming 6th place and setting a groundbreaking milestone for the sport in the region.

The 20-year-old Bresnu made history at the prestigious tournament, which took place from December 4–7, 2024, at the Riyadh Golf Club. Delivering an impressive performance with a total score of -17 (66, 68, 67, 66), he not only secured 6th place but also achieved the highest-ever ranking by a Moroccan golfer in the major leagues of international golf.

Joaquin Niemann emerged victorious in a spectacular playoff against Cameron Smith, the 150th Open Championship winner, and Caleb Suratt, following a finale that showcased world-class talent. The PIF Saudi International, regarded as the crown jewel of the International Series and the Asian Tour, annually attracts the most competitive field of the season. This year’s tournament featured the elite of the LIV Golf League alongside top-tier Asian circuit players. Among the notable names were Dustin Johnson, a two-time major champion and former world number one, Sergio García, the legendary 2017 Masters winner, Patrick Reed, the 2018 Masters champion, and Louis Oosthuizen, the celebrated Open Championship winner.

Despite competing as an amateur, Bresnu displayed remarkable poise and resilience, outperforming numerous seasoned professionals and proving his capability to challenge the sport’s finest.

Adam Bresnu’s exceptional 6th place finish, just four strokes behind the champion, underscores his talent and consistency. As a member of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation’s “Road to The Tour” program, Bresnu demonstrated not only technical mastery but also remarkable composure under pressure. This historic performance is a testament to his potential and signals a bright future for Moroccan golf on the global stage.

Already an Arab champion and a competitor who made the cut at the International Series Qatar, Bresnu continues to defy expectations and excel against elite players. His achievements place him firmly among the sport’s rising stars to watch in the years ahead, representing a beacon of hope for Moroccan and Arab golf.

Bresnu’s achievement is part of a broader wave of success for Moroccan golf, highlighted by the recent triumph of the national women’s team at the African Women’s Championship.

These victories are the result of a strategic and sustained effort by the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation to elevate the sport’s prominence on the international stage.
