Morocco Achieves Historic Performances at the 2025 WATC in Singapore

Moroccan golf once again made its mark on the international stage at the World Amateur Team Championships (WATC), held from October 1 to 11, 2025, at the Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore.

In the men’s competition, Team Morocco achieved the best collective result in its history, finishing 20th worldwide with a total score of -2, improving on the 24th place earned at the 2023 edition in Abu Dhabi.

A historic performance against the 36 best golf nations in the world, confirming the steady rise of Moroccan golf at the highest level.

Leading the team, Adam Bresnu delivered an outstanding performance, finishing third individually (-10), an unprecedented result for a Moroccan and Arab player in the history of the Amateur World Championships.

Alongside him, Alexandre El Khomri and Hugo Mazen Trometter also turned in solid performances, crucial to maintaining Morocco’s strong team ranking.

On the women’s side, during the previous week’s Espirito Santo Trophy, the national team, composed of Sofia Cherif Essakali, Maria Eidhagen Harrouch, and Rim Imni, finished 30th in the world.

This result reflects the continued success of the training and development efforts carried out through the Road to the Tour program, and highlights the growing experience of a promising generation of young Moroccan golfers.

The Moroccan delegation was accompanied by captains Mr. Ali Bensouda and Ms. Raja Hasnaoui, as well as coaches Reda Rhazali and Younes El Hassani, whose work and dedication greatly contributed to this collective success.

These performances further strengthen Morocco’s position among the emerging golf nations, and serve as a promising sign ahead of the 2027 WATC, which will be hosted in Rabat, at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam.
