The first stage of Morocco Rising Stars – Marrakech, an Asian Development Tour tournament, ended on June 22 at the Samanah Golf Club. Organized by the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation in collaboration with the Asian Tour, this first of two consecutive events brought together 128 players, including 30 Moroccans, who came to compete against a strong international field.
Victory went to Aidric Chan of the Philippines, who shot a solid final round of 65 for a total of -18, winning by one stroke ahead of Karandeep Kochhar of India. This is his second title of the season on the tour and puts him at the top of the ADT Order of Merit.
Three Moroccans made the cut: Ayoub Lguirati, Ayoub Ssouad, and Amine El Kharraz. Lguirati stood out as the best national representative with a total score of -11, finishing 13th. The Moroccan number one confirmed his status as the leader of national professional golf. Ayoub Ssouad, 49th with a total of -3, finished as the best amateur in the competition, while Amine El Kharraz, 55th with +3, was the third Moroccan to make the cut.
The competition continues this week with the second stage of the Morocco Rising Stars, which will take place from June 26 to 29 at the Al Maaden Golf Resort course, also in Marrakech. The best Moroccan players will once again attempt to reach the top, with their sights set on the International Series Morocco, scheduled for July 3 to 6 at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat.
