Road To The Tour
In 2021, the RMGF launched the Road To The Tour 2021–2031 initiative, marking a major strategic shift for the Federation. This new direction allocates 70% of actions to development and 30% to elite performance. The objective is to identify young talents at an early age and support them through a structured performance pathway, with an opening toward international circuits, notably through American universities.
Through this program, the RMGF identifies, structures, and supports high-potential players within a long-term development framework, preparing them to progress in a competitive international environment.
To achieve this objective, the Federation relies on partner schools and academies, as well as programs such as First Tee Morocco, Road to Lydex, and the Federal Junior Tour.
The program is based on a progressive approach to talent identification, evaluation, and performance improvement, with athletic, academic, and strategic support tailored to each player’s profile. Players integrated into the program benefit from multi-year monitoring built around training, development, and performance objectives.
Since its launch, the program has experienced significant growth, increasing from 2 supported players in 2021–2022 to 15 players in 2025–2026, all enrolled in American universities. This evolution reflects the gradual structuring of the program and the strengthening of federal support.
The program also relies on partnerships with major golf stakeholders to enhance the competitive exposure of Moroccan players and facilitate their access to benchmark competitions.
Today, Road To The Tour incorporates a reinforced operational dimension, including university orientation (NCAA, NJCAA, NAIA), support with application processes, monitoring of athletic and academic progress, and comprehensive guidance aimed at maximizing development and performance opportunities.
In the longer term, the Road To The Tour 2021–2031 initiative seeks to foster the emergence of a generation of Moroccan players capable of competing at the highest level and accessing major international tours such as the PGA Tour, the DP World Tour, the LPGA Tour, and the Ladies European Tour.
